Dota 2 fans can mark their calendars as the 2023 Compendium will officially come to a close on November 16th, 2023. This announcement from Valve gives players ample time to complete challenges and claim rewards before bidding farewell to the Compendium. While the blog post congratulated Team Spirit for their victory at TI 2023, it did not provide any information about the highly anticipated next update for Dota 2.
Despite the disappointment of the TI Compendium lacking substantial content, Valve assured fans that there would be more to look forward to after the conclusion of TI. However, details about the next update may have to wait until the Compendium is no longer available in the game.
In addition to addressing concerns about the lackluster prize pool at TI 2023, Valve introduced Special Champion edition sticker capsules for Team Spirit in Dota 2. Purchasing these sticker capsules will directly contribute 50% of the sales to the champions, allowing them to earn more than the first-place prize money of $1.4 million.
It’s important to note that this bundle is exclusive to Team Spirit and does not benefit the other participating teams. This means that the majority of Dota pros will continue to miss out on additional earnings through the Compendium. Looking ahead to 2024, the Dota 2 scene will undergo a new model as the Dota Pro Circuit disappears, making room for more third-party events in the game’s competitive calendar.
