The long-awaited feature of housing multiple households on the same lot is finally coming to The Sims 4 with the upcoming For Rent expansion pack. This expansion pack aims to enhance neighborhood-style gameplay and offers players the opportunity to become property owners or tenants on a lot with other Sims households.
Players can now create townhomes, duplexes, apartments, or any other type of building they desire and turn it into a multi-residential rental. This means that more than one Sims household can live on the same lot, bringing a new level of diversity and interaction to the game. While this feature can be used in any Sims world, the pack includes a new world called Tomarang, inspired by Southeast Asia, which offers unique activities and experiences.
As a property owner, players will have the responsibility of managing the tenants on their lot. This includes attending to their requests, performing inspections, and handling repair tasks. Players can choose to live on the same lot they manage or manage multiple lots at once, making property management a viable career path for Sims.
The For Rent expansion pack also introduces new gameplay mechanics to complement the tenant lifestyle. Sims can engage in drama by eavesdropping, snooping, or even breaking into other tenants’ lots to cause chaos. Additionally, the pack includes four new Aspirations and five new traits for players to explore and expand their gameplay.
The world of Tomarang offers a vibrant and diverse environment, with lush greenery and bustling city life. Players can visit a botanical garden, explore an animal sanctuary, participate in cultural activities like leaving offerings at the Spirit House, or enjoy the Night Market. The pack also introduces two new event types, Potlucks and Pool Parties, to help players get to know their neighbors better.
Of course, no Sims pack would be complete without some quirky and sometimes deadly events. The For Rent expansion pack includes a mold-related demise, reminding players to take care of any mold that arises unless they want their Sim to meet an untimely end.
The Sims 4 For Rent expansion pack is set to release on December 7th, allowing players to fulfill their dreams of becoming simoleon-making landlords. Those who purchase the pack between November 2nd and January 18th will also unlock additional Street Eats Digital Content.
