Respawn Bug in Apex Legends Allows Players to See Opponents While Respawning

Xavier Ward

An Apex Legends player has discovered a bug that grants them the ability to see opponents while respawning from a dropship. This bug has caught the attention of the game developers, who are already working on a fix.

On November 2nd, a player shared a video clip showcasing the bug, which allows them to observe the actions of another team on the ground. Typically, players are unable to do this as it can provide an unfair advantage by revealing the location of enemy teams during critical moments of the match.

In the video, during the dropship animation, the player’s banners are still visible at the bottom left side of the screen. However, when they scroll and switch to a third-person view of the enemy, the banners disappear until they drop down.

While the video demonstrates opponents in close proximity to the respawn point, another player reported encountering the bug and being able to see opponents who were nowhere near their respawn location. According to this player, the opponents were on the opposite side of the map.

Another player mentioned experiencing the same bug and not being able to see their teammates’ nameplates on their HUD. Players speculate that the disappearance of nameplates and the ability to see enemies may be connected.

The Respawn developers are aware of this unusual bug and are actively working to resolve it. A developer commented on the Reddit thread, stating that they have added the issue to their public bug tracker.

However, since the bug is still under investigation, the exact cause remains unknown. We have reached out to the developers for further comment.
