Apex Legends players are unhappy with the skins available in the shop during the Ignite season. Some of the skins are recolors that players believe should be purchasable with Legend Tokens instead of Apex Coins.
Players expressed their frustration on Reddit, pointing out that the exclusive Legendary skins, Hell Bent and Player Two, are essentially recolors of previously released skins. These skins cost around $17 and are only available for a limited time.
One player commented, “It’s frustrating that they’re charging money for the same skin that came with a battle pass. It’s lazy.” Many players agreed with this sentiment, although some argued that these skins were not a major part of the event and could be ignored.
Recolors are a specific category of skins in Apex Legends. While they have high rarity, they are not created from scratch and can be purchased with either Apex Coins or Legend Tokens, as long as the player owns the base version of the skin that was recolored. However, selling recolors as fully-fledged Legendary skins is disappointing for players who expect to use their Legend Tokens.
Apex Coins are valuable and typically used for premium content, such as upgraded Battle Passes and exclusive skins. Therefore, players were frustrated to see recolors priced so high.
It remains uncertain whether Respawn Entertainment will address the community’s feedback on this issue. The skins will be available in the shop until November 14.
