World of Warcraft players have something to look forward to in the upcoming expansion, The War Within. The game director, Ion Hazzikostas, announced during BlizzCon that a new battleground will be introduced. This 10-vs-10 map, set in The Ringing Deeps, will provide an exciting PvP experience for players.
The new battleground takes inspiration from Silvershard Mines, a popular PvP map from Mists of Pandaria. Similar to Silvershard Mines, players will need to control and capture mining carts to gain an advantage. While the new map will have a more symmetrical design, it will still offer the same thrilling gameplay as its predecessor.
PvP enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting a new battleground, as the last addition, Seething Shore, was introduced back in March 2018. The War Within aims to address this demand and provide fresh content for PvP players. Although specific details about the new battleground are scarce at this early stage of development, more information will be revealed in the future.
It’s important to note that the features mentioned are part of the first patch of The War Within, and there may be additional surprises for PvP players down the line. The expansion itself will bring a wealth of new content, including the continent of Khaz Algar with four new zones, eight dungeons, Hero talents, and cross-realm guilds.
The War Within is set to release in 2024, likely in November or December, following the typical two-year expansion cycle. With the promise of exciting new features and gameplay, World of Warcraft players can anticipate an immersive and thrilling PvP experience in the near future.
