BlizzCon 2023 has brought thrilling news for Overwatch 2 enthusiasts, as three new heroes have been teased. Among them is Venture, a DPS hero set to join the roster in Season 10. Hailing from Canada, Venture is a non-binary archaeologist who wields a drill as both a tool and a weapon, allowing them to explore underground and traverse the map.
During a BlizzCon panel titled “What’s Next?” for Overwatch 2, Venture was unveiled through concept art showcasing their first-person perspective and detailed character design. Sporting goggles and equipped with their trusty drill, Venture looks ready for adventure, with the drill impressively half their size.
Early gameplay footage captured during a recent playtest showcased Venture’s impressive mobility in a match set in Nepal. One of their signature abilities enables them to burrow underground, rendering them temporarily invulnerable before bursting upward, propelling them into the air and dealing damage. Another ability allows Venture to dash forward, either closing the distance to engage in combat or providing a means to disengage. This ability can also be used in conjunction with their underground maneuver.
Venture’s weapon fires eight projectiles before requiring a reload, with each shot traveling a set distance before exploding. Although the gameplay footage does not reveal their ultimate ability, Venture appears to offer an exciting and aggressive playstyle, with their abilities holding great potential for thrilling gameplay.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to test Venture’s limits and explore the hero’s full kit. With their unique abilities and adventurous spirit, Venture promises to bring a fresh and exhilarating experience to Overwatch 2.
