Players Request Shiny Pokémon Charm in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have been eagerly requesting a new charm that would help them spot Shiny Pokémon. Although a charm was introduced in the recent DLC, The Teal Mask, it did not fulfill their wishes. Fans are now hoping for a charm similar to the one in Legends: Arceus that allows them to hear when a Shiny Pokémon is nearby.

In a Reddit thread, a player expressed their desire for a charm that would chime whenever a Shiny Pokémon is in close proximity. Many other players agreed, acknowledging the challenge it may pose due to the different spawning mechanics in Scarlet and Violet compared to Legends: Arceus. Despite the potential difficulties, players are still enthusiastic about the idea.

One user suggested an alternative approach, proposing that the charm could highlight the Pokémon’s name during battles when it is active. This would provide an additional visual cue to identify Shiny Pokémon.

The inspiration for this request came from the Glimmering Charm introduced in The Teal Mask DLC, which allows players to increase the number of Tera Shards obtained from Tera Raid battles. The author of the Reddit thread believes that adding a similar charm alongside the upcoming DLC, The Indigo Disk, would be a marketable feature, even if it were behind a paywall.

Shiny hunting is a beloved activity among Pokémon fans, but it can be quite challenging. The odds of encountering a Shiny Pokémon in the wild in Scarlet and Violet are only 1 in 4,096. Therefore, players do not want to miss out on these rare encounters. However, the current game lacks effective methods to identify Shiny species easily. While there are slight visual changes, they are often difficult to notice. Players have been urging the developer to implement accessibility features to enhance the Shiny hunting experience, but their requests have yet to be fulfilled.
