Dota 2’s biggest tournament, The International 2023, is receiving a surprising boost to its prize pool from an unexpected source. Adult actress and model Yulia “Eva Elfie” Romanova has announced that she will be contributing her earnings from OnlyFans to support the winners of TI12.
Elfie took to Instagram to share her decision, stating that she wants to address some of the concerns raised by fans about the tournament. From October 26 to 29, she will be adding all of her OnlyFans earnings to the prize pool, providing a much-needed increase.
This gesture comes at a crucial time for TI12, as its prize pool is currently at its lowest point in almost a decade. The lack of content in the TI 2023 Compendium has resulted in a decline in player engagement and purchases, leading to a significant drop in the overall prize pool.
While the specifics of how the additional funds will be distributed have not been disclosed, it means that some competitors at TI12 will receive a bonus outside of Valve’s official contribution.
Elfie’s announcement may come as a surprise to some Dota fans who are unfamiliar with her involvement in the esports scene. However, she has been active in attending tournaments for Dota and CS:GO for several years. She previously attended TI11 in Singapore in 2022 and the BLAST Paris Major in May 2023, where she partnered with 1xBet and collaborated with teams such as Tundra Esports and Team Spirit.
In addition to her financial support, Elfie also expressed her excitement to be present at the arena, cheering on the players and ensuring a lively atmosphere despite the rainy weather in Seattle.
With this unexpected boost to the prize pool, Dota 2 fans can look forward to a more exciting and rewarding TI12.
