A dedicated Apex Legends player has spent an astonishing 1,900 hours playing the game on the Nintendo Switch. Despite the Switch version being considered the worst platform to play on, this player has shown their unwavering commitment to the handheld console.
On October 30th, a Redditor shared a screenshot of their Nintendo profile’s play activity, revealing the immense amount of time they have invested in the game. While many were surprised by their choice to play on a platform with subpar performance, the player explained that they posted this in anticipation of cross-progression becoming available. This means they will soon be able to transfer their progress to another platform.
It’s important to note why the Switch version is regarded as the worst option. The console’s limited power restricts Apex Legends to a maximum of 30 frames per second, and sometimes even lower. The graphics are not as sharp as other consoles, resulting in a somewhat clunky and stiff appearance. This is problematic for a game that heavily relies on fluid movement, especially during chaotic moments.
With the arrival of season 19 on October 31st, players who feel confined to a particular console now have the opportunity to explore and experiment on different platforms. As for me, I will be steering clear of the Switch version for the foreseeable future.
