Apex Legends players are fed up with unfair movement tricks in the game and are now demanding that the developers remove these mechanics or ban players who use them.
In a Reddit post on Aug. 28, a frustrated player expressed their frustration with the absurdity of certain movement options and argued that these mechanics are detrimental to the game, making it even more difficult for new players to get into.
The player highlighted that these movement options, such as neo strafing, can only be executed with the help of config files, which essentially act as scripts enabling inhuman precision.
Other players acknowledged the issues with config files in Apex and admitted that they have been discouraged from playing the game as a result.
The post also mentioned the concept of TTK (time to kill), noting that Apex has a longer TTK compared to games like VALORANT and Counter-Strike. Some players expressed their desire for instant death experiences, suggesting they would play VALORANT instead.
Another player suggested that if the movement options are not removed entirely, they should be accessible to all players without the need for macros or config files. This would ensure a level playing field, with the usage of these techniques separating skilled players from the less skilled.
One player criticized the developers for their reluctance to remove these mechanics, pointing out that Respawn had promised to remove tap-strafing in 2021 but has yet to do so.
It remains to be seen whether Respawn will take action and address the concerns of the players.
