Studio Wildcard has announced that Ark: Survival Ascended, the Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Ark: Survival Evolved, is one step closer to its highly anticipated release. The game, which serves as a bridge between the original Ark and the upcoming Ark 2, has undergone significant graphic improvements and will feature cross-platform multiplayer, modding capabilities, and exciting new additions such as wild babies and a photo mode.
The release of Ark: Survival Ascended was initially scheduled for August 2023 but was later delayed until October of the same year. With the month coming to a close, there have been no further delays, indicating that the release is imminent. Developers have recently announced that certification builds for the game have been submitted, marking the final step required for a console release.
Certification builds involve rigorous testing to ensure stability and compliance with platform requirements. Once this process is successfully completed, the game will be ready for release. While an official release date has not yet been announced, developers have promised to unveil a trailer before the game becomes available.
Upon release, Ark: Survival Ascended will include access to the game’s battle royale mode and the Scorched Earth expansion. The remaining expansions, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis Part 1, and Genesis Part 2, will be released periodically until the second quarter of 2024. Ark 2, featuring Hollywood star Vin Diesel as the protagonist, is set to launch toward the end of 2024. Additionally, Ark: The Animated Series is currently in development, boasting an impressive voice cast including Gerard Butler, Malcolm McDowell, Elliot Page, David Tennant, Alan Tudyk, Karl Urban, and more.
