Renowned game director Hideki Kamiya, creator of Bayonetta, has firmly stated that teaming up with other beloved video game directors such as Hideo Kojima and Yoko Taro would be disastrous. In a recent YouTube video where Kamiya addressed fan questions, he expressed his belief that collaborating with other directors with different personalities and ideas would result in a clash, making it impossible to create a decent game together. Kamiya compared this to the fusion of characters in Dragon Ball, emphasizing that blending different directing styles would not be feasible. He stressed the importance of having a single captain to steer the ship, highlighting the uniqueness of game creators.
In the same video, Kamiya expressed his interest in working with Capcom again, particularly on Viewtiful Joe and Okami, two games he directed while at Clover Studio. He revealed his desire to create a third installment of Viewtiful Joe and admitted feeling that Okami was left unfinished. Kamiya’s passion for these projects suggests potential future collaborations with Capcom.
