Better Odds for Headless Horseman Mount Drop in World of Warcraft’s Hallow’s End Event

superadmin

World of Warcraft’s annual Halloween event, Hallow’s End, has arrived, and players are eagerly participating in the festivities, particularly the hunt for the elusive Headless Horseman mount. This year, however, there is good news for those seeking this rare mount – the drop rate has been significantly increased, especially on your first kill.

Previously, the Horseman’s Reins had a meager drop rate of approximately 0.4 percent. However, in 2023, the odds are in your favor as the hard mode of the encounter increases the likelihood of obtaining the mount. Additionally, your first kill of the day, regardless of the time, grants a bonus chance for the Headless Horseman to drop it.

According to WoW community manager Kaivax, “Yes, and the first drop of the day receives a bonus likelihood that scales with the number of curses you apply.” Although specific drop rates have not been disclosed, it is clear that the chances of acquiring the mount have improved.

The encounter with the Headless Horseman takes place in Scarlet Monastery, where players can engage in battle and attempt to obtain the coveted mount.

This means that by logging in early in the morning or late at night, players can take advantage of the increased drop rate by defeating the Headless Horseman on hard mode with all curses applied. This strategy offers a better chance of obtaining the mount than ever before. It is worth noting that there are four curses in total, each significantly enhancing one of the Headless Horseman’s abilities. While this may not greatly affect damage per second (DPS), it can pose a challenge for healers and tanks, particularly if they do not utilize their major cooldowns.

Therefore, it is recommended to log in after school or work, enter the Headless Horseman instance, and activate hard mode each time. This could potentially bring an end to the arduous grind that players have endured for years.

Hallow’s End will continue until November 1, offering plenty of other exciting activities for players to enjoy. In addition to the Headless Horseman encounter, players can learn about the origins of the character, complete various quests, go trick-or-treating, and even explore the old version of the Scarlet Monastery.
