Bizarre Glitch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Leaves Players Perplexed

Derek Morgan

A strange glitch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has left players scratching their heads after witnessing an unusual highlight. The glitch, which affects the field of view (FOV) and scope size, has sparked confusion and mixed reactions among the gaming community.

In a video clip shared on November 19, a player can be seen using the Katt-AMR with an ACOG scope to eliminate multiple enemies with precision. However, what stands out the most is the significantly smaller scope size and the stretched FOV, allowing the player to see almost everything in their peripheral view. Many players believe this to be one of the latest bugs in MW3.

The FOV glitch has drawn comparisons to classic games like Golden Eye on the Nintendo 64, as well as previous Call of Duty titles. Some players have also voiced complaints about the gun sounds in MW3, adding to the list of potential fixes that they hope Activision will address.

Activision has already faced challenges with MW3’s release, including poor reviews and duplication bugs that allowed players to exploit the game for unlimited XP. While some players may want the FOV glitch to remain, others argue that it unintentionally enables cheating and should be fixed, similar to the duplication bug.

Activision has been proactive in addressing bugs, swiftly fixing the duplication glitch and a Zombie exfil farming bug within a week of release. Given their responsiveness, it is likely that they will patch the FOV bug soon. Dot Esports has reached out to Activision for comment on the FOV glitch.
