Blizzard Entertainment has addressed a major problem in World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore, where players were dying from fall damage due to sudden disconnects. In a recent update, the company introduced additional protections to prevent these deaths.
The update includes two key changes. Firstly, when players take a flight path, they will receive a protection aura that prevents all damage. Secondly, their hearthstone cooldown will be reset, and the hearthstone spell will be cast instantly, regardless of when it was last used.
This means that if a player is disconnected mid-flight and logs back in to find their character falling, they will not take fall damage. As a backup, if the protection aura is not applied, the player’s hearthstone will be off cooldown, allowing them to use it before hitting the ground.
This update is particularly important for WoW Classic Hardcore, as players have been frustrated by losing their characters to mid-flight disconnects. Previously, only a few classes had tools to survive fall damage, and consumables were only available at higher levels.
With this fix, the number of deaths caused by disconnects during flight paths will be significantly reduced. Players can now enjoy the game without worrying about their PC or internet connection failing them at crucial moments. They can sit back, relax, and appreciate the view while their character travels across the world.
