Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Developers Address Priority Bugs

Derek Morgan

Sledgehammer Games, the lead developers of the latest installment in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 3, have acknowledged and shared a list of priority bugs they are currently working on fixing. The game has faced heavy criticism from players and critics alike, prompting the developers to take action.

On November 14, the official CoD updates Twitter account provided a link to a public Trello board, allowing players to track the progress of bug fixes directly. Sledgehammer Games also joined in, tweeting out the prioritized bugs that are causing significant issues in the game.

One major issue is the failure of Daily Challenges to track progression for some players. This problem is currently under investigation, and it hinders players from unlocking weapons or attachments they are aiming for. The Armory progression in MW3 is already locked behind completing daily challenges, and with the added bug of challenges not refreshing once completed, players are unable to make any progress.

Another top concern for Sledgehammer Games is the malfunctioning of certain class loadout options, such as the EOD Padding Gear, which fails to grant users its full effect. Additionally, the Remote Turret has been disabled, and there have been reported issues with Tactical Sprint and players spawning with random loadouts. These bugs significantly impact gameplay and disrupt the overall experience.

MW3 has received waves of negative feedback from players and popular gaming creators, making it the worst-reviewed Call of Duty game to date. The campaign, in particular, has faced heavy criticism for its short duration, as it can be completed in just a couple of hours. The introduction of “Open Combat Missions,” which resemble Warzone-like story maps, has been deemed lazy and disappointing.

Given the multitude of issues plaguing MW3, Sledgehammer Games is taking a direct approach to address them and connect with the players. However, it remains uncertain whether they will be able to bring MW3 up to the standards set by its predecessors. Nevertheless, their efforts to rectify the situation are commendable.
