CD Projekt Red has revealed that an Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 5th. However, there are a few important details to note, including the platforms it will be available on.
The Ultimate Edition will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. While the PC version will only be available digitally, fans of physical media will be pleased to know that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will be available on disc. This marks the first time these versions can be purchased physically.
It’s worth mentioning that the Ultimate Edition will not be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is due to the inclusion of the Phantom Liberty DLC expansion, which was only released for current-gen platforms.
Interestingly, the Phantom Liberty DLC will not be included on the disc for the PS5 version. Instead, it needs to be downloaded separately using a code that comes with the game. The same applies to the PC version. However, physical copies of the Xbox Series X/S version do include the Phantom Liberty DLC on the disc.
Despite these details, the Ultimate Edition offers the best way to experience Cyberpunk 2077. It includes the original game as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion, making it the most up-to-date version available. It’s important to note that the original game had a troubled launch due to numerous bugs and glitches, but it has since been improved and received positive reviews.
CD Projekt Red has not yet announced the price of the Ultimate Edition, which may be a deciding factor for some potential buyers.
