CD Projekt Red is gearing up for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty DLC, but they have a simple request for players: check your CPU health first. The developers advise using benchmarking apps like Cinebench to ensure adequate cooling for the game’s increased strain on your PC.
Filip Pierściński, the Lead Scene Programmer for Cyberpunk, warns that the upcoming DLC will push your eight-core CPU to over 90% workload, leaving little room for other tasks. While most modern gaming CPUs with proper cooling should handle it, older rigs may need to be benchmarked before purchasing.
Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way since its troubled launch in 2020. The game now runs smoothly and offers the RPG experience fans were hoping for. With the major update and new DLC, the game is expected to further improve its quality.
The Phantom Liberty expansion brings exciting new content to the game. Players will explore the new district called Dogtown, encounter new vehicles, engage in new storylines, and experience significant changes to police presence and perks. Additionally, the level cap will be raised, giving returning players a reason to dive back into Night City.
Fans won’t have to wait long for these new adventures, as Phantom Liberty is set to release on September 26th. Make sure your CPU is ready for the action-packed journey ahead!
