CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion Includes Witcher 3 Easter Egg

Tim Price

The latest expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, called Phantom Liberty, has been released, offering players a new narrative to explore. Along with the 2.0 update, players can enjoy a wealth of fresh content.

According to IGN, fans of CD Projekt Red’s Witcher series are in for a treat when they reach a specific quest in Phantom Liberty. The expansion features a range of engaging missions that expand on the game’s overall story. Upon completing the mission “Lucretia My Reflection,” players will encounter a delightful Easter egg related to CD Projekt Red’s immensely popular RPG, The Witcher 3.

After finishing the mission, players can return to the same pay phone they encountered during the quest inside Capitan Caliente. They have the option to dial any number they choose. However, if they dial the number 5745552377, which is written on a nearby sticky note, they will hear the iconic theme from The Witcher 3 playing on the other end of the line. Additionally, while listening to the theme song, the character Johnny Silverhand will smile at the player and give them a thumbs-up, reminiscent of the popular meme featuring Geralt doing the same.

It’s important to note that this is just one of many Easter eggs and references to The Witcher 3 in Cyberpunk 2077. Other notable Easter eggs include a magazine featuring Ciri on the cover during the introduction of the Corpo lifepath in the base game, an arcade game called “Roach Race” that references Geralt’s horse Roach, and Johnny Silverhand playing the theme from The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine DLC on his guitar.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is now available, and with the newly released 2.0 patch, players can enjoy new missions, skill trees, weapons, reworked cyberware systems, and more.
