Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have expressed disappointment in the limited options for character customization in the game. However, the recent release of The Teal Mask DLC has sparked inspiration among players, leading them to come up with creative ideas for more clothing and accessories.
In a Reddit thread on September 25th, one player shared a selfie with an ordinary NPC from The Teal Mask. The NPC was wearing a cute bag inspired by the Bug Pokémon, Charjabug. This sparked a desire among players to have access to the same bag and other outfits worn by NPCs.
One player expressed their wish to dress as NPC classes, particularly Ace Trainers. This would provide players with a range of options to customize their characters, allowing them to emulate the coolest NPCs or match the theme of their Pokémon team. For example, a bug enthusiast might want to dress as a Bug Catcher NPC to showcase their interests and personality.
Players also expressed a desire for accessories worn by major characters like Penny and Kieran. Penny’s Eevee backpack, known for its cuteness, would be perfect for players who love the Eeveelutions. Kieran’s trendy belt bag offers a refreshing alternative to the standard backpacks worn by students at the academy. Some players simply prefer smaller bags or dislike backpacks altogether.
The Teal Mask DLC does provide a few additional outfits and accessories, but incorporating the clothing worn by NPCs would offer endless possibilities for unique and personalized character customization.
As one player humorously remarked, “The NPCs in this game have much better style than we do.” Unfortunately, this remains true in the Gen IX games. While there is hope for more clothing options in Part II of the DLC, The Indigo Disk, which is set to be released in winter, players currently envy the stylish NPCs while they are stuck with school uniforms and jinbei.
