Charles Martinet’s Successor as Mario’s Voice Actor Possibly Revealed in Wonder Demo Datamine

superadmin

According to recent datamines from the Mario Wonder demo, it seems that the next voice actor to take on the iconic role of Mario may have been discovered. Nintendo had previously announced that Charles Martinet, who has been the voice of Mario for 25 years, would be stepping down from the role. Fans have been eagerly speculating about who would fill his shoes, and it appears that either Kevin Afghani or Mick Wingert could be the chosen one.

A tweet from October 12 shared information from the datamine, which listed the characters and their voice actors in the Mario Wonder demo. The names of the yet-to-be-revealed or assigned voice actors were marked with question marks. By process of elimination, considering there are only five question marks and assuming the voice actor will be an English-speaking male, we are left with two potential candidates: Kevin Afghani and Mick Wingert.

Comparing Kevin Afghani’s performance as Arnold in Genshin Impact to the voice of the talking flowers in Super Mario Wonder, there is a striking similarity. This leads us to believe that Mick Wingert is the most likely choice for the role of Mario’s new voice actor. Looking at his extensive portfolio, which includes roles in Genshin Impact, Spider-Man, World of Warcraft, Fire Emblem Heroes, and animated Marvel cartoons as Tony Stark, it is clear that he brings a wealth of experience to the table.

Interestingly, the leaked data also suggests that Mick Wingert will not only be voicing Mario but also Luigi in the game. This adds another layer of excitement to the upcoming release of Mario Wonder.

While we can only confirm the new voice actor once the game is released, all signs point to Mick Wingert taking on the beloved character. With just one week to go until the game’s launch, fans eagerly await the confirmation of this news.
