Critical Role’s annual charity event, Choose Their Adventure… Again, in partnership with Red Nose Day and Comic Relief U.S., has already raised $10,000 since its announcement on October 25th. The donations continue to pour in, showcasing the generosity of the community.
This year marks another collaboration between Critical Role and Red Nose Day, a charitable organization focused on improving child health and educational quality. Over the past eight years, Red Nose Day has positively impacted the lives of more than 32 million children. Critical Role’s involvement has contributed significantly to this cause, with hundreds of thousands of dollars donated through their previous campaigns.
The live-streamed one-shot Dungeons & Dragons 5E campaign, scheduled for November 2023, features the beloved cast of Matt Mercer, Taliesin Jaffe, Laura Bailey, and Liam O’Brien. However, as in previous years, Critical Role is adding some exciting new talent to the mix. This time, actors Sam Richardson and Tony Hale, known for their roles in Veep and The Legend of Vox Machina, will join the adventure.
In addition to the thrilling gameplay, this year’s campaign offers an extra level of engagement for fans. Personalized polls allow viewers to influence various aspects of the adventure, including the players’ character classes, the starting event, the pursuing entity, the cursed magical treasure, and the burdensome item or concept carried by a character. The current poll results reveal intriguing choices:
– The game begins with a date with an entity.
– The party consists of Sam Richardson as a Warlock, Tony Hale as a Wizard, Liam O’Brien as a Bard, Laura Bailey as a Barbarian, and Taliesin Jaffe as the Rogue.
– Instead of a super-fan, a haunted spirit may soon chase them down.
– A magical saddle that allows players to ride one another will be introduced.
– Someone in the party has a contract to capture another member, which adds an interesting twist to the story.
With the polls closing on November 3rd, there is still time for fans to donate and influence the campaign’s direction. While donations will be accepted throughout the show, the opportunity to shape the classes and campaigns will end soon. Last year’s donations reached nearly $200,000, so it’s likely that significant changes await as we approach November 28th.
