In Act Three, I stumble upon a brothel and engage in a conversation with its owner, Mamzell. She offers me a reward—a chance to indulge in an orgy with two sultry Drow twins. It’s every gamer’s dream come true, but there’s a catch. I’m sharing a tent with Karlach, and I can’t make this decision without considering her feelings.
I ask Karlach for her opinion, and she selflessly gives me permission to do as I please. However, I see a hint of sadness in her eyes. I realize that indulging in this fantasy would break her heart. So, against all odds, I refuse the twins’ offer.
This decision doesn’t affect my relationship with Karlach, nor do I receive any reward for my loyalty. But the writing and character development in Baldur’s Gate 3 are so compelling that I couldn’t betray Karlach’s trust. The game has created characters that feel like friends, enemies, and lovers, inciting a willing suspension of disbelief.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has managed to captivate me with its complex and heart-wrenching stories, but it’s Karlach who truly stands out. I may have used a Quicksave to explore the alternative path, but my loyalty remains unwavering. Karlach, my sweet, you have won my heart.
