A problem has emerged for console players in Diablo 4, as they are being ignored by their PC counterparts when it comes to trading. While the game’s crossplay functionality allows players from all platforms to play together, console players are facing difficulties in trading due to the awkward and time-consuming process. This issue not only makes trading dangerous, as players risk being kicked from the server for being AFK, but it also leads to frustration and exclusion from PC players.
A Reddit post on November 21 highlighted this problem, garnering over 1,200 upvotes. The post described a console player’s five-day-long struggle to find players willing to trade for Duriel materials. Despite suggesting smaller trades to avoid being kicked for AFK, many PC players refused to trade or simply ignored the console player’s requests.
The current trading format in Diablo 4 is clearly ineffective and creates a divide between console and PC players. While crossplay is becoming more common in modern gaming, it is evident that there are still challenges to achieving a level playing field across different platforms.
It is hoped that Blizzard will address these trading issues in a future patch. However, the fact that Diablo 4 has been out since June without a fix for this problem raises concerns about the game’s development and support.
