Counter-Strike 2’s recent introduction of MR12 in competitive mode has sparked controversy within the community. FaZe Clan’s ropz believes that the game’s economy is not equipped to handle this change.
In an interview with Dot Esports, ropz expressed concerns about the impact of pistol rounds on the economy. He emphasized that winning or losing a pistol round will have a significant influence on the outcome of the game. Losing both pistol rounds can even be detrimental, potentially leading to a loss.
Ropz, drawing from his six years of tier-one experience, highlighted the unpredictability of pistol rounds, stating that they often come down to individual performance and form.
To address these issues, ropz suggested two possible changes. Firstly, he proposed reducing the impact of pistol rounds to create a more balanced playing field. Secondly, he recommended a hard reset of the loss bonus, starting at $1,400. Currently, the loss bonus gradually decreases with each round won, allowing teams to continuously force buy and maintain a certain level of equipment.
Ropz is not alone in his concerns about the economy following the MR12 update. Heroic’s cadiaN also believes that adjustments are necessary to ensure a balanced gameplay experience.
It remains to be seen whether Valve will address these concerns and make changes to the CS2 format. Ropz, who is widely recognized as a Valve developer (although he denies it), may have the opportunity to provide valuable feedback to the development team.
