After months of anticipation, Valve has released Counter-Strike 2, the highly awaited successor to CS:GO. However, it seems that one major complaint from the community remains unresolved—the tick rate. Natus Vincere’s s1mple sarcastically tweeted that the new tick rate feels even worse than before, comparing it to a mere 16 ticks.
While some players have reported smoother gameplay in initial Deathmatch matches, many have yet to try matchmaking and provide feedback on the overall performance. It is important to note that these initial impressions may not reflect the full experience.
Tick rate has been a hot topic among the CS community recently. Initially, CS2 was expected to have a “sub tick rate” that would surpass CS:GO’s 64 tick rate. However, players quickly realized that the new tick rate system still operated at 64 ticks and did not meet their expectations. This led to widespread disappointment and complaints about CS2’s performance.
Additionally, platforms like FACEIT attempted to enhance the player experience by introducing 128 tick rate servers in early September. Unfortunately, Valve later adjusted the server settings, forcing everyone to play on 64 tick rate.
Despite these concerns, CS2 has gained significant traction since its release. It is crucial for players to personally test the tick rate and overall performance before forming final judgments.
