Counter-Strike 2 has finally been released in full, and Valve has surprised fans with some unexpected additions. One of these is a fresh approach to the weekly drops players receive when leveling up their XP rank, giving players the ability to choose their rewards.
Instead of receiving a random item like a skin, spray, or case, players will now have the option to select their reward from a set of four items in their weekly care package. After ranking up, players can choose two items from the selection, which will be instantly added to their inventory. The store will mark the package as “claimed.”
In addition to this new feature, the storefront itself has undergone significant improvements. The main menu now includes a dedicated tab for the store, making it easier for players to directly purchase cases. This streamlined process will further drive the lucrative weapon skin market that Valve has capitalized on for years. Clicking on a case icon will display all the skins available in that case, but it won’t redirect players to the market listing for the case itself.
The store also currently offers sticker capsules from the BLAST Paris 2023, the most recent CS:GO Major. The General tab showcases a wide range of stickers, music kits, and capsules available for purchase. The Tools section includes a StatTrak Swap Tool pack, a Storage Container, and a Name Tag.
With these exciting updates, Counter-Strike 2 players can now look forward to choosing their rewards and exploring the revamped store for all their customization needs.
