Counter-Strike 2 Launches with Silly Smoke Bug on Nuke Map

superadmin

Counter-Strike 2 has finally been released in full after a lengthy Limited Test phase, officially marking the end of the CS:GO era. However, just hours into the game’s launch, players have already discovered a peculiar yet significant smoke bug.

Nuke, one of the upgraded maps in Counter-Strike 2, underwent some changes, including the addition of a clear glass floor on the B site. Unfortunately, this modification has unintentionally affected the functionality of smoke grenades.

Due to the transparent floor, the smoke texture becomes see-through when deployed on the glass floor section of the B site. Only the top part of the smoke blocks vision as intended, allowing players to see the bomb, dropped weapons, and other players if they are standing within the smoke.

This issue seems to be caused by the bright lighting from the water below. If the smoke is thrown closer to Decon, the door to Decon becomes invisible from the middle of the site. However, if a player is positioned in the Decon doorway, they can see a significant portion of the site that the opposing player cannot see.

As shown in the clip, this bug eliminates the ability to hide in smoke, making it impossible to attempt a ninja defuse on the B site until the issue is resolved. Valve has already expressed their commitment to addressing bugs and other issues post-launch, and it is likely that this particular bug will be given high priority.
