The latest update for Counter-Strike 2 has introduced a fun Easter egg on the Inferno map, paying homage to Counter-Strike: Source. Previously, a small TV in B site’s Construction area displayed a red and black texture. However, after the recent patch, the TV now showcases the main menu from CS:S. This hidden gem can only be accessed by using noclip to get behind the wall, making it exclusive to training sessions.
Despite being released almost 20 years ago in 2004, Counter-Strike: Source still holds a special place in players’ hearts. The community has embraced this idea, with many expressing their excitement and approval. The addition of the CS:S main menu on Inferno is seen as a perfect tribute to the game.
CS:S may not have been as popular competitively as CS:GO or the original CS 1.6, but it provided countless hours of fun and entertainment. Many players, including myself, enjoyed CS:S more than 1.6 due to the wide variety of enjoyable community servers available. Whether it was surfing, deathruns, or zombie escapes, CS:S offered a diverse range of experiences.
As Counter-Strike 2 is still in open beta, there is hope for more Easter eggs like this one in future updates. Players worldwide are eagerly anticipating the game’s official launch, and it would be fitting for it to pay homage to both CS and CS:GO. While Valve is taking its time with the release, we remain hopeful that additional surprises await us.
