CS2 Beta Players Complain About Unfair Matchmaking

superadmin

There’s been a surge in Counter-Strike 2 beta players recently, thanks to a massive invite wave. While many are enjoying the game, some are encountering familiar issues that they believe are “ruining the game.”

One player took to Reddit on September 3 to express frustration about constantly being matched against five-man stacks in CS2’s matchmaking while playing solo. This has long been a problem in CS:GO as well. Naturally, these matches tend to be unfair since the five-man lobby has an advantage due to effective communication. On the other hand, solo players often encounter trolls during their matchmaking adventures.

“I kept getting matched against 5-stack teams who play together and coordinate their gameplay. Meanwhile, my team consists of 4 strangers, any of whom could tilt at any moment and decide to ruin the game for the rest of us,” the author wrote.

The solution to this issue seems simple. Players suggest restricting five-man stacks from being matched against solo players. They point out that Dota 2 already has this option, despite having a smaller player base in Europe compared to CS:GO.

The recent influx of new players in the CS2 beta has resulted in valuable feedback. While Valve is pressed for time to meet its summer 2023 release, addressing this minor matchmaking problem would greatly improve the gaming experience for many.
