Improved Gameplay and Visuals in Latest CS2 Patch
The latest CS2 patch has addressed several minor annoyances and made updates to various maps, resulting in improved gameplay and visuals. These changes aim to enhance the overall experience for players.
Movement and Clipping Fixes
One of the significant improvements in this patch is the fixing of movement and clipping issues on multiple maps, including Vertigo, Nuke, Anubis, Inferno, Office, Mirage, and Ancient. Players will now experience smoother movement and reduced instances of getting stuck on teammates or walls.
Map-Specific Changes
Various map-specific changes have been implemented to enhance gameplay. For instance, the railing on the balcony in Inferno has been partially removed, allowing players exiting the Apartments to have an unobstructed view into Pit. Grenade bouncing and clipping have also been adjusted in all competitive maps, making complex jump-throws and bounce shots more reliable.
Visual and Effects Improvements
The patch has addressed visual and effects issues, particularly with stickers and weapon finishes. Players who invested in expensive skins were frustrated with how they appeared in CS2, but these problems have now been resolved. Additionally, muzzle flash and HE grenade effects have been improved to enhance visibility during gameplay.
Lighting and Player Model Visibility
Changes to lighting have been made on Overpass to improve player model visibility and overall readability. Valve has acknowledged that certain agent skins were causing issues on this map, and these adjustments aim to rectify the problem. Nuke has also undergone visual changes, including fixing a bug where shadows would pass through an unopened Squeaky Door.
Addressing Movement and Clipping Issues
The most significant changes in this patch focus on movement and clipping. These adjustments aim to address the “stickiness” players have experienced when running close to teammates or walls. While there are still other issues to be resolved, such as sub-tick servers and the lack of community maps, these changes should provide a smoother gameplay experience for both veteran and new players.
