The latest update to Cyberpunk 2077 brings a thrilling addition to the game – a Doom-inspired arcade mini-game. Players can now find an arcade machine on the outskirts of Night City, featuring Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand battling through levels of Arasaka’s HQ.
Named Arasaka Tower 3D, this arcade Easter egg pays homage to the iconic first-person shooters Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. The game perfectly captures the style and gameplay of the “boomer shooter” genre, even restricting players from looking up or down, just like in the original Doom.
In Arasaka Tower 3D, players navigate through multiple levels, uncovering secret doors and eliminating enemies along the way. It’s a fantastic representation of in-game events that players can experience while progressing through the main quest line. The 2.0 update not only revamped the game’s systems but also added this delightful extra content.
To find the Arasaka Tower 3D arcade machine, head to the Badlands region just outside Night City. Travel north of the protein farm access point until you reach an abandoned church. Inside, the arcade machine awaits. Although the game is relatively short, lasting around 10 minutes, CDPR’s attention to detail is commendable.
In our world, Doom has left an indelible mark on gaming history. It’s fascinating to think that Arasaka Tower 3D could be Cyberpunk’s own version of this influential first-person shooter that has shaped the gaming industry.
