Destiny 2 Experiencing Errors and Disconnects Due to DDoS Attacks

superadmin

Destiny 2 players have been frustrated with errors and frequent disconnects in the game. Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, has finally revealed the reason behind these issues – DDoS attacks.

In a recent tweet, Bungie announced that the ongoing errors and disconnects were not related to the planned fixes for crafting issues, as many players had assumed. Instead, they were the result of deliberate DDoS attacks. While Bungie usually doesn’t disclose such information due to security risks, they felt it was important to inform affected players this time.

DDoS attacks involve flooding the game servers with excessive internet traffic, causing disruptions and preventing players from accessing the game. These attacks are considered cybercrimes and are taken seriously by companies.

Despite the frustration, Destiny 2 players appreciated Bungie’s transparency and communication regarding the issue. However, it is worth noting that Bungie stated they do not plan to disclose such information in the future for general game security reasons. The exact reason for this exception remains unknown.

Some players jokingly speculated that the DDoS attacks were a response to Bungie “taking away their funny guns,” referring to recent changes in the game.

While the Destiny community shared humorous suggestions like turning security on and off again or blowing into the cartridge, Bungie is actively working on improving security measures and resolving these problems. Hopefully, players will soon be able to enjoy the game without interruptions.
