Controversial streamer Destiny recently appealed his permanent ban on Twitch, but the new appeal system swiftly rejected his plea within one hour.
In March 2022, Destiny’s Twitch channel was permanently removed for the sixth time due to his failure to adhere to Twitch’s community guidelines, specifically regarding hateful conduct.
The appeal system upheld the ban, citing Destiny’s violation of the community guidelines. In an email, Twitch informed Destiny that his account would remain suspended.
Destiny’s ban stemmed from a livestream debate with white nationalist Nick Fuentes, who was also banned from Twitch. This incident led to Destiny’s permanent removal from the platform.
Twitch’s community guidelines explicitly prohibit behavior driven by hatred, prejudice, or intolerance, including actions that promote discrimination, denigration, harassment, or violence based on various protected characteristics.
Following his Twitch ban, Destiny initially shifted his streaming activities to YouTube. However, in March 2023, he secured a deal with Twitch’s competitor, Kick, and has been streaming there since. Nonetheless, he continues to regularly upload videos on YouTube.
Currently, Destiny boasts 87,000 followers on Kick and over 730,000 subscribers on YouTube. Given his consistent production of controversial political content, it is unlikely that Twitch will lift his ban anytime soon. A significant change in his approach would likely be necessary for Twitch to reconsider their decision.
