Diablo 4 dataminers have discovered potential details about the first annual expansion, titled Lord of Hatred. The expansion is rumored to include raids, an NPC hiring system, a new region, corrupt Runestones, and a nature-themed class.
It has been almost five months since the launch of Diablo 4, and players have been eagerly awaiting news about the first expansion. While there hasn’t been much information released, dataminers have recently uncovered hints about what to expect in the upcoming expansion.
If the information found in the code of the new version, known as “Version 2.0,” is accurate, the first annual expansion will focus on Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred. This comes as no surprise, considering the conclusion of the main story in Diablo 4.
In the campaign, Mephisto sets sail across the seas, leaving players wondering about his destination. The Lord of Hatred expansion may finally reveal the truth, as dataminers suggest it will introduce a new region called Kurast. Kurast, known as the capital city of Kehjistan, appeared in Diablo 2 and was heavily affected by the Prime Evils.
Additional details uncovered by dataminers include an NPC hiring system, allowing players to equip NPCs with items to perform tasks on their behalf. The expansion may also introduce the ability to craft corrupt Runestones, as well as a new class called Spiritborn, which focuses on nature-themed abilities.
It’s important to note that these details are not confirmed until Blizzard officially announces them. However, the prospect of a Spiritborn class and a Mephisto-focused expansion is certainly exciting for Diablo 4 players.
