Pokémon Go players are expressing their disappointment with the A Paldean Adventure Special Research, which was launched to introduce the first species from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet region. Despite the excitement surrounding the release of this Research, players have found the rewards to be lackluster and not worth the effort.
The Special Research consists of five pages of challenging tasks, including exploring 80 km and catching 100 different species of Pokémon. However, players feel that the rewards offered for completing these tasks are underwhelming. A top-voted comment on a Reddit thread from Sept. 24 expressed this sentiment, stating, “The rewards for completion are terrible.”
Players have taken issue with the fact that the rewards do not match the level of difficulty and effort required to complete the tasks. One player shared a screenshot showing the fifth phase of A Paldean Adventure, where they only received a Pawmi encounter as a reward for completing the fourth stage. The fifth phase includes even harder tasks and offers a Lucky Egg as a reward.
Due to the perceived lack of worthwhile rewards, many players have chosen to ignore the Special Research altogether. However, the tasks are not overly specific, so players will likely complete them naturally over time while playing the game. Additionally, since it is a Special Research, there is no time limit imposed.
Research tasks are an integral part of Pokémon Go gameplay, providing valuable rewards to players. While A Paldean Adventure may feature tedious tasks, other tasks, such as scanning Pokéstops, are also disliked by players.
