Discover a New Strategy for Defeating Balthazar in Baldur’s Gate 3

Xavier Ward

Months after its release, players of Baldur’s Gate 3 are still finding new ways to conquer boss fights and complete levels. One player has recently stumbled upon an alternative strategy for defeating Balthazar in Act Two.

In a Reddit thread from Oct. 20, a player shared their discovery of skeletons spawning from piles of bones scattered throughout the Nightsong Prison. They came up with the idea of gathering all the piles and placing them in one spot. This clever tactic makes it easier to dispatch the skeletons during the boss fight, especially when using skills with a wide area of effect like Cloud of Daggers and Hunger of Hadar.

This strategy has proven to be effective and even more so when facing Balthazar for the first time. While there is the option of countering the skeletons with the spell Raise the Dead, players find it more enjoyable to move the skeleton spawn points together for mass AOE attacks.

This innovative approach to boss fights is just one example of the depth and attention to detail in Baldur’s Gate 3. Players continue to uncover new strategies and hidden features, making each playthrough a unique experience.
