Discover the Risky Rat Spot in Apex Legends’ Olympus Map

Tim Price

An Apex Legends player uncovers a hidden spot in Olympus that provides a perfect hiding place from opponents. However, entering this spot comes with its own set of risks.

In a Reddit post from Oct. 5, a player shares their exciting find in Olympus’ Energy Depot POI through a confusing yet entertaining video. They explain that while they were AFK, their mischievous teammates decided to have some fun by throwing grenades and pushing their character’s body. This unexpected series of events led them to an invisible ledge, where they could remain partially hidden but also trapped.

This rat spot offers a double-edged sword for players. On one hand, it provides a safe haven where they can hide without being easily detected. This can be particularly useful for those who prefer a more cautious approach or need to step away from the game momentarily. However, it also means that players won’t be able to take any actions while in this spot. Additionally, they will need assistance from either their teammates or their own means to get back up, making it far from an ideal location. Furthermore, enemies may still spot them, especially if a Bloodhound, known for their ability to track down hidden players, is nearby.

The response to the Reddit post was mixed, reflecting the ongoing debate surrounding hiding spots in Apex Legends. In Season 17, the ranked point system was adjusted to prioritize survival over kills and assists. This change led to an increase in players “ratting,” or hiding until the end of the game, which many consider to be detrimental to the overall enjoyment of the game. To address this issue, the ranked point allocation was readjusted in Season 18, which began on Aug. 8 and will continue until Oct. 31, to strike a balance between kills and survival.
