Dominate Your Ranked Games with Keria’s Bard Build

Tim Price

Keria’s Bard play was instrumental in T1’s upset victory over JD Gaming in the 2023 League of Legends World Championship semifinals. Learn from the Korean star and master the Wandering Caretaker to dominate your ranked games.

Bard is a unique and challenging champion in League of Legends, often overlooked due to his difficulty. However, Keria’s exceptional performance with Bard proves his potential. While his build for Bard aligns with popular recommendations, there are slight differences in his runes and items that you can adopt to increase your chances of winning.

For Bard’s runes against tanks, Keria opted for Resolve tree runes:
– Guardian
– Font of Life
– Bone Plating
– Unflinching

In the Domination tree, he chose:
– Zombie Ward
– Relentless Hunter

While we don’t have specific details on offensive, flex, and defense options chosen by Keria in each game, the usual preferences for Bard include:
– Offensive (Attack Speed)
– Flex (Adaptive Force)
– Defense (Armor)

Against Lulu, Keria made a slight adjustment by taking Shield Bash instead of Font of Life. This grants bonus adaptive damage for your next basic attack after gaining a shield. It deviates from the recommended choice but may be worth considering in your ranked games.

Summoner Spells are also crucial. Keria consistently used Flash and Ignite for Bard. As for items, regardless of facing tanks or enchanters, he built:
– Shard of True Ice
– Locket of the Iron Solari
– Ionian Boots of Lucidity
– Knight’s Vow

As the Worlds semifinal games concluded before completing his Bard build, we can speculate that Keria would have leaned towards items like Randuin’s Omen or Bulwark of the Mountain based on his ProBuilds profile and previous Bard games.

The only exception to Locket of the Iron Solari was when facing Blitzcrank. In that scenario, Keria wisely chose Shurelya’s Battlesong, considering Blitzcrank’s popularity and the importance of escaping his hook.

Keria’s Bard build differs from the recommendations on U.GG, which suggest Boots of Swiftness, Deadman’s Plate, and support items like Redemption. While those options are valid, there’s no harm in trying something different, especially when a professional like Keria consistently finds success with his build.

While you may not achieve the same level of success as Keria, who is a top-tier professional player about to compete in the Worlds final, it’s worth exploring new strategies as League of Legends evolves with each patch. The upcoming 2024 preseason presents an opportunity to experiment and adapt.

We hope to witness more of Keria’s Bard build in League ranked games and the Worlds 2023 Finals, where T1 will face off against Weibo Gaming on Nov. 19.
