Dupreeh Returns to Compete for Heroic Until 2023

Xavier Ward

Danish CS:GO player, Dupreeh, is making a comeback to competitive gaming as he joins Heroic as their fifth player until the end of 2023. After spending the last four months on Vitality’s bench, the five-time CS:GO Major champion is ready to take on new challenges with Heroic.

Dupreeh will be filling the shoes of cadiaN, Heroic’s former in-game leader and the face of the team. It is unclear whether Dupreeh will also take on the role of captain or if someone like stavn will step up as the secondary caller.

Despite being an obvious choice for Heroic due to his impressive career achievements and Danish background, it will still be a bit strange to see Dupreeh wearing Heroic’s colors.

Dupreeh rose to fame during his time with Astralis from 2016 to 2021, where he showcased his skills as one of the best entry-fraggers in CS:GO. He played a crucial role in Astralis’ four Major championship victories alongside gla1ve, dev1ce, Xyp9x, Magisk, and Kjaerbye.

Dupreeh holds the record for the most Major championships won in CS:GO, with five titles under his belt. He recently secured the BLAST Paris Major trophy in May before being benched by Vitality. Despite his accomplishments, Dupreeh made it clear that he is not done yet.

In June, when Vitality benched him to make room for flameZ, Dupreeh expressed his determination to continue competing. He stated, “I still feel I am on top of my game and will spend my time figuring out what’s next. I would love to win my sixth Major in my hometown of Copenhagen next year, but winning a Major is not easy. I need to find a team and organization that share my ambition, professionalism, and willingness to sacrifice to achieve a common goal.”

Before joining Heroic, Dupreeh was in talks to join TSM, but the deal did not materialize. For now, Heroic has announced that Dupreeh will be with them until the end of 2023, but this could change if he helps the team regain their position at the top of the CS:GO scene.
