Entity has secured their spot in Dota 2’s The International 2023, qualifying for the game’s biggest event for the second year in a row. Despite facing tough competition in the regional qualifiers, including Nigma Galaxy and Secret, Entity managed to come out on top and secure their place in TI once again.
Qualifying for TI through the Dota Pro Circuit is no easy feat, with over 10 teams vying for just one or two spots. In the past, only two teams have managed to qualify for TI through regional qualifiers consecutively. Entity now joins the ranks of these teams, having achieved this milestone for the second time.
The road to TI 2023 didn’t start off smoothly for Entity. As the third seed, they found themselves in a challenging part of the bracket, facing off against Nigma Galaxy in the first round. However, Entity emerged victorious with a 2-1 score, setting them up for a match against OG or Team Secret.
In a hard-fought battle against Secret, Entity continued their journey through the upper bracket with two intense matches. Their next challenge came in the form of Luna Galaxy (LG), a surprise team that had advanced from the upper bracket. Despite LG’s strong performance, Entity managed to secure their spot in TI12 after a grueling encounter that lasted over an hour.
With Entity’s qualification, fans will have the opportunity to watch the talented carry player, Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov, compete in the prestigious TI tournament. Watson, who hails from Kazakhstan, made a name for himself during the 2023 DPC season and held the top rank in Europe for an impressive duration, earning recognition from popular Dota 2 streamer Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski.
The WEU qualifiers will continue tomorrow, with three teams remaining and only one TI spot up for grabs. Secret will face Quest at 6am CT, and the winner of that match will go on to challenge LG at 9am.
