In an interview with Inven Global, Team BDS player Adam shared his perspective on the skill gap between European and Asian top laners. Contrary to popular belief, Adam believes that the difference in skill level is not significant. He stated that the best top laners from both regions are quite similar in terms of skill. However, he noted that the style of play in the LEC is more stable and slower compared to the more aggressive and outplay-focused style in Asian leagues. Despite this, Adam emphasized that skill-wise, the top laners are on par with each other.
While acknowledging that Asian teams have a better practice environment due to the higher level of competition in the LCK and LPL, Adam still believes that certain LEC teams can pose a challenge to their Asian counterparts. Specifically, he mentioned G2 Esports, Fnatic, and Team BDS as teams that can potentially cause damage to Asian teams, particularly those from the second, third, and fourth seeds.
The Play-In stage of Worlds 2023 is set to begin on October 10, with Team BDS facing Vietnamese team Team Whales on October 11. To advance to the main stage of the tournament, BDS needs to win two games in their group and then one series in the qualifiers.
