WoW Retail: The Worldsoul Expansion Trilogy
Blizzard Entertainment unveils a thrilling journey for WoW players with three new expansions known as The Worldsoul Saga. The trilogy, consisting of The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan, will feature a cohesive storyline throughout.
The first chapter, The War Within, is set to release in 2024. Players will venture to the distant island of Khaz Algar, where they will encounter a new allied race called the Earthen. These unique Dwarves, adorned with gems, bring a fresh twist to the game. The available classes for the Earthen are yet to be revealed.
Khaz Algar offers four new zones for exploration: the Isle of Dorn, the Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall, and Azj-Kahet. Dragonriding will be introduced in these zones, and players will encounter various inhabitants such as the Nerubians and the Arathi. Despite three of the zones being underground, they will not feel claustrophobic.
The expansion will introduce eight new dungeons, four for leveling and four for max level. The dungeons include The Rookery, The Stonevault, Priory of the Sacred Flame, City of Threads, Cinderbrew Meadery, Darkflame Cleft, The Dawnbreaker, and Old City. Additionally, the first raid, The Nerub’ar Palace, with eight bosses, will take place in the Azj-Kahet zone, further advancing the story.
The War Within also brings a Hero talent system, account-wide transmogs and reputations through Warbands, and Delves. Delves are role-agnostic outdoor content for one to four players, providing seasonal alternatives for those who prefer not to engage in raiding or Mythic+ dungeons.
WoW Classic: Cataclysm
Following the release of Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Blizzard announces the arrival of Cataclysm Classic. This means that designated WotLK Classic servers will progress to the Cataclysm era, allowing players to relive the moment when Deathwing descended upon Azeroth. Cataclysm Classic will retain the beloved aspects of the original expansion while incorporating new dungeon difficulties and rewards, guild progression updates, account-wide transmogs, and a faster patch cadence and leveling experience.
WoW Classic Hardcore: Self-found Mode
Classic Hardcore introduces a new feature called Self-found mode. In this challenging mode, players must navigate the harsh world of Hardcore entirely on their own. Trading, using the auction house, joining groups, and sending or receiving mail are all prohibited.
WoW Classic: Season of Discovery
Blizzard surprises WoW Classic fans with Season of Discovery, a new server that offers a Classic+ experience in a seasonal format. Launching on Nov. 30, this mode aims to rekindle the charm of WoW Classic without a PTR release. Season of Discovery introduces Discoveries, level-banded content capped at level 25 for the initial weeks, Rune Engraving, and a level 25 raid.
Players will progress up to level 25 and await further content updates from Blizzard. Along the way, they will encounter hidden secrets and unlock new spells through the Rune Engraving system. Initially, players will have three slots to engrave (chest, legs, and hands), with more slots becoming available as the level cap increases.
Blackfathom Depths will be transformed from a regular dungeon into a 10-person raid, allowing for unique class and role combinations such as Mage healers or Shaman, Rogue, and Warlock tanks. The Season of Discovery promises an exciting journey of exploration and experimentation.
