BlizzCon 2023 brought some major announcements for Diablo 4, and players have a lot to look forward to in the coming year. From quality-of-life improvements to new events and challenges, here’s what you can expect:
Update | Date |
---|---|
Rebalanced Leveling System | December 12 |
Winter Festival Update | December 12 – January 2 |
Season of the Malignant | December 12 – January 2 |
Abattoir of Zir | December 5 – January 16 |
New Expansion and Class | Late 2024 |
The rebalanced leveling system will allow players to reach level 100 faster, making it easier to progress through Season of Blood and face the formidable boss, Duriel. This change comes as a response to player feedback, along with other quality-of-life improvements like additional character slots and previews for item affixes.
Starting on December 12, Diablo 4 will get a winter festival-themed update. The Fractured Peaks region will be transformed into a winter hellscape for three weeks, complete with a mysterious figure dressed in a red cloak, possibly hinting at a Santa boss fight. The Season of the Malignant will also make a return during this time, offering class-specific rings that grant popular abilities.
For those currently engaged in the Season of Blood, get ready for the Abattoir of Zir. This highly replayable six-week end-game event, starting on December 5, promises soul-crushing difficulty that will challenge even the most seasoned players.
And if all that wasn’t enough, late 2024 will bring a new expansion and class to Diablo 4, giving players even more content to look forward to in the future.
