Get ready for the highly anticipated launch of Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn trading card game! We have an exclusive reveal for you today – introducing Tigger, One of a Kind, a powerful Ruby three-drop card.
The Ravensburger development team has been hard at work, and spoiler season for the second chapter of Disney Lorcana is officially underway. They have introduced a new bounce package in the Amethyst color, and now, they are unveiling a new three-drop card in the Ruby color that synergizes with Action cards.
Tigger, One of a Kind:
Casting cost | Type | Color | Rarity | Stats | Lore | Energetic ability |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Three (Inkable) | Dreamborn and Tigger | Ruby | Uncommon | 3/3 | One | Whenever you plan an Action, this Character gets plus-two power this turn. |
Tigger, One of a Kind could potentially replace Rafiki, Mysterious Sage in the popular Disney Lorcana meta deck Ruby/Amethyst. However, this argument is dependent on the meta, which is expected to change significantly with the launch of Rise of the Floodborn and the second print release of The First Chapter.
While it remains to be seen if Tigger, One of a Kind will become a meta card in Constructed play, it should not be underestimated in casual formats such as Two-Headed Hydra and others that have emerged.
What makes Tigger, One of a Kind stand out is its Inkable three-cost with solid 3/3 power and toughness. These stats provide a strong foundation for any deck, whether it’s a Starter Deck or a format that only uses low-rarity cards. Although Tigger, One of a Kind is a weak Lore source, its Energetic ability can make it a formidable force when combined with Action cards.
In a Ruby/Steel deck using only Actions from The First Chapter, Tigger, One of a Kind becomes an impressive three-drop card. It could also potentially shine in a Ruby/Emerald deck with the item Dr. Facilier’s Cards, which allows for a casting cost discount on the next Action played that turn. However, the real potential lies in a Ruby/Amber deck.
Songs are considered Actions, and Ariel, Spectacular Singer is already a key Character in any Lorcana deck playing Amber and Songs. The dominant meta deck leading up to the release of Rise of the Floodborn is Amber/Steel, which performed exceptionally well at the PPG MiamiCon tournament. Tigger, One of a Kind could be the start of a Ruby/Amber deck in the making.
Players will have the opportunity to test the strength of Tigger, One of a Kind starting on November 17th, with the retail launch of Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn taking place on December 1st.
