The former LCS MVP, Summit, is set to join his third different region in as many years for the 2024 League of Legends season. After a one-year stint with Team Liquid, Summit will be heading south to join Movistar R7 in the LLA, according to a report from Brieuc Seeger of Sheep Esports.
Movistar R7 had a successful year in Latin America in 2023, winning both the Spring and Summer Splits and qualifying for the Mid-Season Invitational and World Championship. However, they were unable to advance past the play-in stage in either tournament.
Summit’s move to the LLA will mark his fourth professional league, having previously played in the LCS with Cloud9 and Liquid, the LPL with FunPlus Phoenix, and the LCK with Afreeca Freecs and Liiv SANDBOX.
Summit’s departure from North America comes at a convenient time, as he recently faced criticism from the League community for making inflammatory comments about his former Liquid teammates on social media. This move to the LLA gives him the opportunity to start fresh and reinvent himself.
Joining Movistar R7, one of the most successful organizations in the LLA, Summit will have the chance to continue their dominance in the region. If the team performs well with Summit in the lineup, there is a possibility of facing one of his former LCS teams on the international stage next season.
