Galactus, the devourer of worlds, has seen a decline in usage in Marvel Snap due to a recent nerf to his ability. Previously, Galactus had the power to destroy two locations, but now his ability has been reduced to only being able to destroy one location. Additionally, he must be the sole card on that location and win it in order to activate his ability. While this change has made it more challenging to pull off Galactus’ devastating move, some players have found a way to still make it work.
One Reddit user, theterror987, shared a strategy they used to successfully activate Galactus’ ability. They utilized the combination of Wong and Mystique, along with Odin, to trigger Forge’s ability multiple times. Wong has an ongoing ability that triggers all “On Reveal” abilities of cards placed on the same location as him twice. Mystique, on the other hand, copies the ongoing ability of the last card played by her user. Odin reactivates all “On Reveal” abilities of cards placed before him on the same location. By placing these cards in the Kamar-Taj location, where all “On Reveal” abilities are triggered twice, the player was able to activate Forge’s ability a total of 36 times, boosting Galactus’ power to a whopping 77.
This strategy proved to be successful as the player’s opponent only managed to create a power of 38 in the Elysium location, allowing Galactus to overpower them and destroy the other two locations. The post received praise from fellow fans for the clever setup and strategy employed by the player.
This is not the first time the Wong, Mystique, and Odin combination with Forge has been featured. Another Reddit user shared a clip in August of a similar strategy, although they were unable to activate Galactus’ ability due to interference from another card. Nevertheless, they still managed to win with a power of 58 created by Galactus.
Overall, despite the nerf to Galactus’ ability, players are finding creative ways to still utilize his power and dominate in Marvel Snap. The Wong, Mystique, and Odin combination with Forge has proven to be a successful strategy, allowing players to boost Galactus’ power significantly and secure victories.
