Lost Caverns of Ixalan, the latest set in Magic: The Gathering, was released digitally on MTG Arena on November 14th. However, the launch day was marred by a significant bug involving the card Fabrication Foundry. As a result, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has temporarily banned the card until the issue is resolved.
Fabrication Foundry, a two-drop Artifact from the Lost Caverns of Ixalan set, has an activation ability that allows players to bring Artifacts back from their graveyard to the battlefield for a cost of 2W. This ability became even more powerful due to the bug, as it allowed players to reanimate any Artifact regardless of its mana value.
The bug was quickly discovered by Magic streamer MythicMeebo, who reported it to WotC. In response, WotC promptly issued a temporary ban on Fabrication Foundry and notified players through the MTG Arena mailbox.
It’s important to note that Fabrication Foundry is not banned in the physical tabletop version of the game or on MTGO. The ban only applies to MTG Arena until the bug is fixed.
WotC has not provided an expected date for resolving the bug at this time. Dot Esports has reached out to WotC for further information.
