A serious exploit has been discovered in Genshin Impact involving the character Kaveh, causing irreversible damage to players’ games. Until a fix is implemented, it is advised to avoid playing co-op and to keep your Serenitea Pot private.
On August 26, a Chinese player reported that a Kaveh player intentionally removed a puzzle element from their game, and reinstalling Genshin Impact did not restore it. Another player also experienced this issue and provided evidence through a broadcast on Bilibili. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to retrieve deleted items.
It has been found that some players can exploit a breach in the game’s files to make Kaveh’s Elemental Ability disappear. However, those who play the game normally should not be affected by this exploit. Nevertheless, it is still recommended to avoid co-op until the developer addresses the issue. Additionally, it is advisable to close your Serenitea Pot to public access, as cheaters can make your furniture disappear without a clear solution for recovery.
Initially, it seemed that this exploit was only possible when playing Kaveh on Chinese servers. However, a video later emerged showing a Nahida using her Elemental Ability to make Domain reward trees vanish on Western servers. This suggests that the exploit may be related to Dendro cores in general, rather than just Kaveh’s ability. So far, no other Dendro character has been observed executing the same exploit in videos.
This exploit comes shortly after a game-breaking bug involving Diluc, which allowed players to annihilate enemies with endless Pyro reactions using a specific combo with Anemo Archon Venti. The developer quickly fixed this bug, but it is unclear whether the current exploit was discovered after the fix or since Patch 4.0, which introduced a significant amount of new content in August.
While waiting for the developer’s fix, some players have resorted to making memes about the exploit. Kaveh has earned the nickname “Architect and Destroyer of Worlds.” If you have been affected by this exploit, it is recommended to open a support ticket with HoYoverse and hope for a restoration of your game.
