Gen.G, the League of Legends team, is preparing for major changes to its starting roster following their unexpected elimination from the 2023 World Championship. In an interview with Dexerto, Gen.G top laner Doran revealed that the organization is anticipating roster changes in November. While he doesn’t know which players will join the team, he believes Gen.G will remain a top-tier squad in the LCK.
This surprising development comes after Gen.G’s devastating playoff loss to Bilibili Gaming from China. Gen.G was heavily favored to win the Summoner’s Cup and had a dominant year, winning consecutive LCK championships. However, they struggled at the Mid-Season Invitational and suffered an early exit once again at Worlds.
Despite having a stacked roster with star players like veteran jungler Peanut, rookie AD sensation Peyz, and legendary mid laner Chovy, Gen.G has yet to consistently perform on the international stage. The team possesses immense talent but has struggled to deliver when it matters most.
As Gen.G regroups and reflects on their defeat, the remaining teams at Worlds continue to battle it out. China still has all four of its representatives in the tournament, while Korea only has two teams remaining. The competition will resume on Saturday, Nov. 4 with a match between KT Rolster and JD Gaming.
